The 1st International Workshop on Big Data Storage, Analytics, and Visualization (BDSAV-2013)
Washington D.C., USA, September 8, 2013
(to be held with 2013 ASE/IEEE International Conference on Big Data, http://www.asesite.org/conferences/bigdata/2013/)
Explosive growth in data volume and complexity imposes unprecedented challenges for researchers who investigate new storage and computational solutions to support fast and reliable access to large datasets and transform them into insights. The capability of managing and mining large data sets is critical for domain scientists in various disciplines to gain vital scientific importance for knowledge discovery. Achieving the needed capability will require collaborative and interdisciplinary efforts to realize new holistic solutions to access, analyze, and visualize data at large scales. This workshop aims to bring computer science researchers and domain scientists together to share their vision and ideas to address big data challenges, with a focus on efficient big data storage, data analytics, and visualization.
The topics of interest of this workshop include but are not limited to:
. Efficient large-scale data storage technologies
. Metadata management for large data centers
. Data reliability
. Data analytics and text mining
. Large data visualization
. Advanced storage methods for data analytics and/or visualization
. Approaches using distributed, parallel, or multi-threaded architectures
. In-situ simulation and visualization
. In-memory data processing for real-time data analytics
. Application- and semantic-aware data filtering
. Data reduction and analytics
. Application case studies using big data
