Location-based services for Indoor Smart Environments (LISE)
IPIN workshop 28th - 31th October 2013
Montbéliar - Belfort (France)
The improvement and development of indoor localization systems during the last years paved the way for new services, beyond navigation, that make use of location data as a base feature. Such services encompass many different application areas, ranging from entertainment to ambient assisted living, remote medical assistance, social networking, electronic commerce to name the most popular. Location based services are often made available to users by means of mobile devices through the mobile network, but they can even be embedded into the environment to build Smart Environments, which provide assistance to humans in a large number of activities. In fact, the kinds of services available in a smart environment may differ with respect to the type of environment, but they often rely on localization information. These developments have also become more and more important in the last years due to the expansion of the market of mobile devices and the business cases beyond them.
The objective of this workshop is to involve both experts of indoor localization and application experts to discuss the current status and future perspectives and development of indoor localization applied to developments of services in Smart Environments. The scope is restricted to indoor environments.
Instructions for authors
The workshop is hosted by IPIN, the conference on Indoor Positioning and Indoor Navigation, now in its fourth year. Registration is required, according to the rules set by the conference organisers. LISE is a peer-reviewed workshop: each paper will generally receive three reviews. Proceedings of LISE will be published online in the IEEE Xplore database. Selected best papers will be recommended for publication in a SCI-indexed international journal (check the Special Issues page on IPIN's web site for details) and reviewed by the journal’s editorial team. Accepted manuscripts will be published in a special issue.
Submissions should be done using Easychair. Papers need to follow IPIN's modified version of the standard IEEE template for conference proceedings. You can download the template in Microsoft Word format or the LaTeX template from the dedicated IEEE web page. You will then need to add the conference header on all pages, and the copyright number at the bottom on the first page. Please refer to the Word template for instructions.
