Topics/Call fo Papers

Soft Computing became a formal Computer Science area of study in the early 1990's. Earlier computational approaches could model and precisely analyze only relatively simple systems. More complex systems arising is often remained intractable to conventional mathematical and analytical methods. Soft computing refers to a consortium of computational techniques in computer science (like fuzzy systems, neural networks, etc) that deals with imprecision, uncertainty, partial truth, and approximation to achieve tractability, robustness and low solution cost. Soft computing tools, individually or in integrated manner, are turning out to be strong candidates for performing tasks in the area of data mining, decision support systems, supply chain management, medicine, business, financial systems, automotive systems and manufacturing, image processing and data compression, etc.
Data mining is a process involves using the database along with any required selection, preprocessing, subsampling and transformations of it; applying data mining methods to enumerate patterns from it; and evaluating the products of data mining to identify the subset of the enumerated patterns deemed knowledge.
Aim
The First International Conference on Soft Computing and Data Mining (SCDM-2014) is dedicated to address the challenges in the areas of soft computing methodologies for data mining, thereby presenting a consolidated view to the interested researchers in the aforesaid fields. The conference looks for significant contributions to soft computing for knowledge discovery in databases in theoretical and practical aspects.
The goal of this conference is to bring together researchers and practitioners from academia and industry to focus on advanced on soft computing for data mining concepts and establishing new collaborations in these areas.
