Topics/Call fo Papers

Management and analysis of large and complex graphs are emerging to be a dominant problem area in many application areas, including web graphs, social graphs, semantic graphs, transportation networks, biological interaction networks and communication graphs, to name a few. These applications are leading to many new solutions for storing, partitioning, indexing, restructuring, querying, and computing derived data from these graphs.
This one-day workshop, to be held in conjunction with the 2013 IEEE International Conference on Big Data (IEEE BigData 2013), aims to bring together researchers and practitioners from academia and industry for exchanging techniques, ideas and experiences in managing large scale graphs for real-life problems and applications. While we do not stipulate what a “large graph” means, it is expected that the papers will focus on graphs exceed the computation, memory and storage capacity of a single resource.
The theme of the workshop is Real Problems, Real Solutions. We encourage authors to submit papers that represent actual use cases and experiments conducted on large data graphs. Suggested topics for the workshop include but are not restricted to the following.
Novel graph representation and storage
Indexing techniques for graphs
Working with compression
Query processing
New graph applications
War stories with graphs
Managing graph updates
Managing evolving graphs
Heterogeneous graphs
Integration of graph data with non-graph data
Database techniques for graph analytics
Distributed graph management
