BDA IC 2014 - 2014 British Dyslexia Association 9th International Conference - Creating Impact Through Innovation
Topics/Call fo Papers
The British Dyslexia Association International Conference is a high profile conference with the key aim of linking academic researchers with practitioners. The conference will be held over 3 days from the 27th to 29th March 2014 at the G-live conference centre in Guildford. The conference will cover all aspects of research related to dyslexia, including identification, theoretical views, intervention and support for children, students and adults.
Call for Papers: The website is open for submission of abstracts until 15th May 2013. Click on 'Submit Abstracts' above to get started.
The conference has an impressive range of keynote speakers from all over the world. There will be at least three keynote speakers on each day of the conference, in addition to multiple parallel sessions on topics ranging from the neuroscience of dyslexia to support in the workplace. We have a well-deserved reputation for presenting cutting edge research in all aspects of developmental dyslexia.
This year, the conference title is “Creating Impact through Innovation”. There is an increasing emphasis on ‘impact’ in academic research, with researchers routinely being asked to explain how their research has affected the ‘real world’. Conversely, educational practitioners have always been interested in how psychology, neuroscience and educational theory, and it is always heartening to see the enthusiasm with which new research is greeted at this conference. We plan this year to promote links in the other direction, from practice to research. We want to hear the questions and ideas that practitioners have, as well as the theories and findings of research. We will help to build ongoing links between researchers and practitioners.
Researchers are invited to submit papers for oral presentations, poster presentations, research seminars or workshops.
