Science and business are becoming increasingly driven by large amounts of data. This creates new practical and theoretical challenges, at the interface between statistics and computer science. The goal of the workshop is to bring together world-leaders in all aspects of large-scale inference, including computer scientists, statisticians and mathematicians, and explore the challenges and opportunities offered by Big data analysis.
The workshop will be held on May 14-15, 2013, at the Institut Henri Poincaré, located downtown Paris (http://www.ihp.fr/), is organized by Francis Bach and Michael Jordan, and is funded by the Fondation de Sciences Mathematiques de Paris and INRIA.
