AGF 2013 - 8th Annual Conference & Exhibition on Geospatial Information, Technology & Applications
Topics/Call fo Papers
Africa Geospatial Forum has been successful in bringing together the geospatial community of Africa and discussing and deliberating upon the usage of Geospatial Technologies across the various economic sectors in the region. It has discussed about building Geospatial Capacity and Infrastructure in Africa, Geospatial Readiness, enabling socio-economic development and Geospatially Enabled Africa in its previous editions. There have been deliberations on various policies and standards, national policy framework, land administration, local governance and municipalities, prospects and challenges of geospatial industry, building geospatial capacities, role of data in inclusive growth and so on and so forth. Time has arrived where these discussion and deliberations need to be implemented as the African region has witnessed the implementation of the technology at various levels in some countries and sporadically in other countries. South Africa being one of the developed economies in the region offers an ideal case of the usage of the technologies at the local, regional and national level. The government, user agencies, the academics and the companies are very active and vocal in putting into actions the best of the knowledge derived from the technology. The forum will bring together the various stakeholders from the geospatial community across the world and Africa continent in particular.
