ILCS 2013 - ILCS 2013 : Inductive Logic and Confirmation in Science
Topics/Call fo Papers
The workshop ‘Inductive Logic and Confirmation in Science’ will be held at the University of Kent campus in Paris (France) on the 17th-18th October 2013 (ILCS 2013). The workshop is organized by Jon Williamson (Canterbury) and Juergen Landes (Canterbury).
The workshop is addressed to all researchers (early and not so early career) in all disciplines with an interest in inductive logic and confirmation in science. Ph.D. students are particularly invited to participate.
We are calling for extended abstracts (~ 1 page) to be sent to j.landes-AT-kent.ac.uk by 30.04.2013. Authors will be notified in June. Authors of accepted abstracts will be given the opportunity to present their ideas to all participants. The meeting will have an informal character and thus it will be a good platform to get feedback on current ideas which have not yet let to fully developed accounts.
Invited and confirmed speakers: Branden Fitelson (Rutgers), Jan-Willem Romeijn (Groningen) and Pierre Wagner (Paris).
The workshop is free and open to everyone with an interest in inductive logic and confirmation in science. To register simply drop an email to the organizers ( j.landes-AT-kent.ac.uk) with your name and affiliation.
We are very grateful to the British Society for the Philosophy of Science, and the University of Kent Centre for Reasoning for providing financial support.
