Topics/Call fo Papers
Medela has great pleasure in presenting to you the 8th International Breastfeeding and Lactation Symposium to be held from the 12th - 13th April 2013 at the Radisson Blu Scandinavia Hotel, Copenhagen.
Over the years the Medela Breastfeeding and Lactation Symposium has become a key event to showcase world-leading lactation research from around the globe. Delegates at past events have enjoyed thought provoking, educational and inspiring programmes. This year promises to be the same with an agenda featuring nine high profile, internationally renowned academics from Australia, Denmark, Sweden and the USA.
Thematically the symposium programme will focus on three main areas: The topics around ‘Latest recommendations of research based practice’ will be covered in presentations from Professor Peter Hartmann, Professor Dianne Spatz, and Associate Professor Donna Geddes. Contributions to ‘Unique components of human milk’ come from Dr Foteini Hassiotou, Professor Kim Michaelsen, and Professor Kerstin Uvnäs Moberg, while Professor Richard Schanler, Dr Ann Dsilna Lindh and Professor Uwe Ewald are three leading experts in the NICU and talk about ‘Value of human milk in the NICU’. The specific areas to be explored within these themes cover a broad range of topics, extending from latest research findings to clinical practice guidelines for professionals.
In addition, the Copenhagen symposium provides the opportunity to meet personally with the speakers, take part in lively panel discussions and enjoy the beautiful, picturesque city of Copenhagen.
We trust that you too will be inspired by this event and we look forward to welcoming you in Copenhagen!
