The summer school will provide a stimulating and enjoyable environment in which participants will benefit not only from the formal and practical sessions but also from informal and social interactions with established researchers and the other participants in the school. To further facilitate communication and feedback all attendees will be obliged to prepare and present a poster on their own research. The electronic copy of all course lectures will be available to participants through the web site. A special issue containing the revised lecture material of the summer school will be published in the series Lecture Notes in Business Information Processing (LNBIP) from Springer.
Participants
We welcome applicants from anywhere in the world. Normally, but not exclusively, applicants will be postgraduate students in relevant disciplines with some knowledge of database and information systems. Some basic acquaintance with data warehouses is required.
Accepted candidates are expected to arrive on Sunday, July 15 between 4 pm and 8 pm and to participate fully in the activities of the school until it ends, on Friday, July 20th at 8 pm. We will not consider applications from students who cannot commit themselves to full participation for the whole duration of the school.
Participants are also required to bring a poster (A1 paper format) describing their own research to the summer school. Two special sessions on Monday and Tuesday evening are dedicated to the poster presentation.
For any information concerning the organization of the summer school, please send an email to ebiss2013-AT-ulb.ac.be.
