14th IEEE International Symposium on Power Line Communications and its Applications

CALL FOR PAPERS
It is our pleasure to announce that the 14th IEEE International Symposium on Power Line Communications and its Applications will be held at Rio Othon Palace Hotel, Rio de Janeiro City, from March 28 to March 31, 2010. Rio de Janeiro is a major city in southeastern Brazil and the capital of the state of Rio de Janeiro. The city is nicknamed A Cidade Maravilhosa - "The Marvelous City".
The Symposium focuses on research, application, and commercialization aspects of the power line communication technology, in both broadband and narrowband fields. Prospective authors are cordially invited to submit contributions describing completed or ongoing research related to the power line communication area. Papers should be original and should not have been presented in other conferences or journals. The contributions should address one of the following aspects related to PLC field including but not limited to:
Technology aspects:
Channel characterization and modeling
Electro-magnetic compatibility/interference and coupling
Modulation and coding techniques
Signal processing
Cognitive issues
Error control
Multiple access techniques and MAC protocols
Duplex and repeater techniques, routing, and autonomous network functions
Network planning and optimization
Cross-layer optimization and service integration
Coexistence and interoperability
Modem and LSI design
Security in PLC
Network and service management
System architectures and solutions
Smart Grids
Broadband and multimedia applications
Experimental systems, field trials, and commercial networks
Standardization and regulation
Business perspectives
In-vehicle power line networks

Notification of Acceptance: 25 January 2010
Camera-ready Paper Submission: 15 February 2010
