IWMMC 2013 - The International Workshop on Machine to Machine Communication
Topics/Call fo Papers
Machine-to-Machine (M2M) communications has emerged as a new tread in information and communication technology. It enables intelligent interconnecting of physical objects and eventually creates Internet-of-Things (IoT) that allows machines to directly communicate with each other with little or no human intervention. M2M covers a wide scope of technologies including sensing, communications, computing and control. Also, M2M has influenced a wide variety of applications, including smart metering, healthcare monitoring, fleet management and tracking and remote security sensing. To this end, M2M has attracted tremendously global attention from academia, industries and governments from different aspects.
The goal of this workshop is to present and discuss the recent advances of M2M technology, including new methodologies, new research directions, or strategies for resolving open problems spanning all aspects of M2M. The workshop objective is to bring together researchers, scientists, and standards experts to present and discuss advances on M2M Communication well as challenges faced by each. The focus will cover both the system-level solutions like software/hardware architectures, and the protocol-level solutions. Furthermore, application-oriented demos and prototypes are also highly encouraged.
Topics of Interest
We solicit the submission that present new techniques, introduce new methodologies, propose new research directions, or discuss strategies for resolving open problems spanning all aspects of M2M. Areas of interest include, but are not limited to:
1. System and Functional Architecture
2. Access Network Technologies and Optimization
3. Network Protocols (Routing, Admission Control etc.)
4. Performance Management (QoS, Scalability, Reliability, etc)
5. Emerging Technologies (RFID, Sensing, Actuating, etc)
6. Gateway Technologies (Access gateway, Application Gateway, etc.)
7. Eco-Sensors for M2M
8. Ecosystem for M2M
9. Web and Cloud Computing Technologies for M2M
10. Applications, Services and Test-beds for M2M
Submission
Prospective authors are invited to submit papers (IEEE standard format, double column, 10-point font, 6 pages maximum) for presentation at the conference. The IEEE templates can be found at:
http://www.ieee.org/conferences_events/conferences...
All submissions should be written in English, the PDF file should be submitted to zkchen-AT-dlut.edu.cn; Lchen-AT-mail.ntust.edu.tw and will be peer-reviewed.
Workshop proceedings will be published in the proceedings of iThings'13 by IEEE Computer Society (EI indexed). Extended versions of selected papers will be considered for publication in several SCI-index international journals.
