OTM 2013 - 12th International OnTheMove (OTM 2013)
Topics/Call fo Papers
This 12th edition of OnTheMove (OTM 2013) is composed of three interrelated yet complementary scientific conferences that together attempt to span a relevant range of the advanced research and cutting-edge development and application, happening in the general area of ubiquitous distributed computing.
The three conferences, each successful in their own right, call for papers covering aspects of fundamental theories, methodologies and emergent technologies, their adoption and application in enterprises, as well as their impact on societal IT issues.
DOA-Trusted Cloud'13, Distributed Open Architectures for Trusted Cloud [computing] is the successor of DOA-SVI (“secure virtual infrastructures”) and focuses on critical aspects of infrastructure for cloud computing, spanning architectural issues to trust, reputation, and security
ODBASE'13, Ontologies, Databases and Applications of SEmantics covers the fundamental study of structured and semi-structured data, including linked [open] data, and the meaning of data as is needed for today’s databases, and the role of data and semantics in design methodologies and new applications
CoopIS'13, Cooperative Information Systems, holding its 21st event since its inception in 1993, invites fundamental contributions on principles and applications of distributed and collaborative computing in workflows of networked organizations, enterprises, governments of just communities
These conferences are linked by three critical research vectors, common yet covered differently. These links run through theory (e.g. underlying scientific formalisms), through the conceptual level (e.g. methodology and conceptual problem solving) and through applications (e.g. demos, case studies and industrial best practices). The events also all share the powerful effects of the technology- and application-pull created by the Web as the world’s most obvious distributed computing environment. Contributions that illustrate the related emergent synergies are especially welcome.
All three federated conferences in their respective approaches to advancing the state of the art in science and industry, do therefore have in common the rigorous scientific study of this inherently distributed, pervasive and ubiquitous nature of modern computing systems.
To stimulate this intended "cross-pollination", OnTheMove implements as well a program of famous and representative keynote speakers, shared by all component events, and a parallel program consisting of a number of topical incubator-style workshops covering emerging related areas. We therefore continuously encourage new workshop proposals.
