WHLTLC 2013 - Workshop on Human Language Technology and Language Changes
Topics/Call fo Papers
The first part of the workshop will focus on how to ensure that HLT products and services reflect the language in use. The second part will explore which HLT tools and resources areavailable to achieve this, and a panel discussion will reflect on what needs to be done in the future.
We call for contributions that address one or more of these topics:
- How can HLT products keep up to date with the language in use?
- What kind of methods and resources are needed to deal with language change?
- How do we create and make available dynamically updated, balanced corpora for the purpose?
- How do we deal with legal issues?
- The Language Councils are monitoring language change as part of their assignment. What HLT tools and resources are already available to assist in this task?
- How can we develop new HLT tools for monitoring language change?
- How can the technological resources and tools be made available for research and development?
