Topics/Call fo Papers

The digital age in manufacturing is giving rise to output devices that allow rapid customization and rapid manufacturing, thereby revolutionizing how we design, develop, distribute, fabricate, and consume products. Given the digital nature of the process, a clear need exists for computational models that support a new way of productional thinking and facilitate intuitive design, efficient representation, fast simulation, and visualization of physically realizable objects.
We seek scientific contributions that cover digital-content creation pipelines, algorithms, and tools that explore computational aspects of fabrication, including both theory and practice. We particularly welcome submissions that introduce ideas to the field and stimulate future trends.
Possible topics include but aren't limited to
geometry modification,
segmentation for manufacturing,
shape abstraction,
modeling appearance,
physical microfacet models,
modeling caustics,
printing deformable models,
designing and printing optical elements,
algorithms for rapid customization,
inverse design and design space exploration,
interfaces for designing physically realizable objects,
analyzing fabrication materials, and
3D-printer drivers.Questions?

Submission Guidelines
Articles should be no more than 8,000 words, with each figure counting as 200 words. Cite only the 12 most relevant references, and consider providing technical background in sidebars for nonexpert readers. Color images are preferable and should be limited to 10. Visit CG&A style and length guidelines at www.computer.org/cga/author.html.
Please submit your article using the online manuscript submission service at https://mc.manuscriptcentral.com/cs-ieee. When uploading your article, select the appropriate special-issue title under the category "Manuscript Type." Also include complete contact information for all authors. If you have any questions about submitting your article, contact the peer review coordinator at cga-ma-AT-computer.org.
