Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) or Ubiquitous Sensor Network (USN) is an emerging technology for identifying and communicating objects and people that requires no physical contact. RFID/USN systems have been widely used in industry to support supply chain management and inventory control. Identification methods are based on storing and retrieving data remotely using RFID tags or sensors. The tag is a small wireless data transmission chip that can be queried by a reader. Tags have low computing and storage capacity. Although the increase in the applications of RFID/USN systems in our daily life is set to continue, it creates new questions of safety and privacy of individuals and organizations, because of their limitations. Examples of safety issues are: cloning an RFID tag or a sensor, and an e-passport for international travel.
Workshop Topics:
* New applications for secure RFID/USN systems
* Cryptographic protocols for RFID/USN
* RFID/USN security
* RFID/USN privacy
* RFID/USN authentication protocols
