The importance of governance, compliance and risk management in business is well recognized - it is inevitable that organizations need to develop methods, tools and techniques to design and assess processes and systems that meet a variety of obligations. The 5th International Workshop on Governance, Risk and Compliance in IS (GRCIS’13) is a forum for new methods that address the challenges of governance, risk and compliance in information system development and use, as well as in the related management of organisational processes. Topics of interest, among others, include the application of technology to support GRC efforts, and methods for detection of compliance violations.
