The 1st International Workshop on Cognitive Radio Interfaces and Signal Processing (CRISP) is positioned as a broad discussion forum focusing on the physical and media access layer design aspects for cognitive radio communications. The aim of the workshop is to bring together a group of experts from Academia and Industry, who are involved in the research and implementation of cognitive radio related systems and would be interested sharing their ideas, results and experiences with other participants, encouraging future collaboration.

The Workshop invites submissions of original theoretical and practical research contributions addressing various aspects of the cognitive radio system design. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

- reconfigurable transceiver elements
- spectrum sensing mechanisms
- mutual interference mitigation in cooperative transmission environments
- signal processing algorithms for reconfigurable and adaptive systems
- transmit signal optimisation for cognitive radio
- pilot and beacon channels in support of cognitive infrastructures
- overlay-based single-carrier and multicarrier systems
- wavelet multicarrier modulation for cognitive radio
- ultra-wideband underlay communication architectures
- software defined cognitive radio
- dynamic spectrum access scheduling
- coexistence of heterogeneous systems
- robust and efficient signalling methods for collaborative spectrum access
- multiple access and channel assignment schemes for cognitive radio
- measurements and channel modelling for flexible bandwidth systems
- synchronisation and channel estimation in dynamic spectrum access systems
- coding and interleaving to improve performance in cognitive radio channels
- cognitive radio channel capacity analysis
- experimental prototypes and results
