The International Workshop on New Media and Computer Vision for Smart City (NMCV4SC)
To be held in conjunction with the IEEE iThings/CPSCom/GreenCom 2013
August 21-24, 2013
Beijing, China
In the smart era, we are witnessing rapid scientific and technological developments in devices, connections, computing resources, sensors and systems with their applications ranging from business and entertainment to communication and management. These developments are collectively best characterized as information services for smart city. However, how to better display and describe the abstract information to serve our smart life through screen or any other perceptible new media?
The NMCV4SC workshop aims at sharing theoretical, experimental and operational results in the design and development of computer vision and new media with a focus on smart city. Consequently, the challenges related to information visualization, interactive design and virtual reality as well as information design in all aspects of smart city are topics to be considered.
Novel papers are invited from both academic and industrial research institutions, describing original results, new technical implementations, or in-depth user studies, including but not limited to:
- Innovative Design
- Computer Visualization
- New Media / Digital Media & Multi-media
- Visual Media Design
- Digital City / Smart City
- Virtual Reality
- Interactive Installation Design
- Game and Computer Animation
- Entertainment and Leisure Design
- Multi-Discipline Fusion Design
- Relativity Study of Combination of Art and Science
Authors are invited to submit short papers (max 4 pages), including figures, tables, and references. Papers should be written according to the IEEE Computer Society format: http://www.computer.org/portal/web/cscps/formattin...
The submission deadline is Apr 10 2013. The PDF file of your paper should be sent to: wangningmaya-AT-buaa.edu.cn
All papers will be reviewed by the Program Committee, which will assess significance, originality, accuracy, and clarity. Workshop proceedings will be published in the proceedings of iThings'13 by IEEE Computer Society (EI indexed). Extended versions of selected papers will be considered for publication in several SCI-index international journals.
