The International Society for Productivity Enhancement (ISPE) was founded in 1984 in the USA with the goal to accelerate and augment the international exchange of ideas and scientific knowledge in the field of technological applications. The primary aim is to integrate technologies, strategies and resources to enhance productivity, competitiveness and thereby improve the quality and standard of life. ISPE has been promoting research and education by organising conferences, training workshops and seminars and various other professional activities. Among others, the primary aim of ISPE is to unite, on a common platform, policy makers researchers, people from academia, engineers and users of CAD/CAM, Robotics and Automation, and Advanced Manufacturing Technologies. Middlesex University was the host organiser for the 12th CARs&FoF in 1996.
MIDDLESEX UNIVERSITY
Middlesex University is a UK based university with campuses in London, Dubai, Mauritius and India. It offers a wide ranging subjects and has a student population of 37,000 globally, 22,000 of which are based in the London campuses at Hendon and Trent Park. Middlesex University has a reputation for the highest quality teaching, research that makes a real difference to people’s lives and a practical, innovative approach to working with businesses to develop staff potential and provide solutions to business issues. Expertise in the university is wide ranging, from engineering, information, health and social sciences, to business, arts and education ? and it leads developments in work based learning solutions in the UK. The work of the University is recognised internationally and has won numerous awards, several of these from the HRM Queen. Most recent award is the Queen’s Award for Enterprise in 2011, recognising our international work.
