OWIT 2013 - IEEE International Workshop on Optical-Wireless Integrated Technology for Systems and Networks
Topics/Call fo Papers
Optical and wireless systems, which in the past developed as separate network entities with a few standard interfaces, have entered a new phase of development as fully integrated networks. To provide high bandwidth and reliable service for both fixed and mobile users, a well-designed network must take into account both optical and wireless transmission, with efficient allocation of resources and satisfaction of QoS requirements within this hybrid network environment. This Workshop will bring together researchers and developers with presentations on topics including:
Integration of emerging standards
Collaborative-RANs (C-RAN)
Common Public Radio Interface (CPRI)
Open Base Station Architecture Initiative (OBSAI)
Femtocells (FEMnet)
Cooperative multipoint (CoMP)
60GHz and E-band Communications
Architectures and Techniques
Novel RoF architectures
Analog and digital radio over fiber
Next-generation Mobile Backhauling
Fixed-mobile interface integration
Integration with NG-PON
Optical Technologies
Network Integration
Optical backhaul from base stations
Mobility issues, network protocols and admission control
Wireless/wired seamless networking
Enabling techniques for RoF systems
Operations and Management
Quality-of-service support
Radio capacity management in RoF
Joint radio/optical resource management
New Business models and opportunities
Energy consumption and efficiency
Wireless protective overlays
Optical-wireless ad-hoc networks for emergency and first responder communications
