SAGEEP 2013 - SAGEEP 2013 : Gravity and Magnetic methods. Engineering and Enviremental applications in Geophysics
Topics/Call fo Papers
We would like to invite you to submit an abstract to the session titled "Gravity and Magnetic methods. Engineering and Enviremental applications in Geophysics" described
below. This session is organized under the 26th Annual Symposium on the Application of Geophysics to Engineering and Environmental Problems (SAGEEP). It will be held in Denver, Colorado-USA from 17 to 21 March 2013. SAGEEP 2013 is organized by The
Environmental and Engineering Geophysical Society (EEGS).
This year's SAGEEP will feature joint sessions with AGU, SEG, AAPG/DEG, as well
as special topical sessions. Short, 300 words maximum abstracts will be reviewed
for both scientific relevance and the absence of commercialism. Deadline for abstract
submission is December 14, 2012, 2400 PT and notices of acceptance or rejection
will be sent to authors by December 21, 2012.
Those submitting accepted abstracts will have the option to submit an extended
abstract (4 pages maximum ? about 1,500 words) or a Near Surface Geophysical
Research Letter (NSGL - 10 pages recommended or about 4,000 words). Deadline
is January 14, 2013 for submission of revised abstracts, extended abstracts, or
NSGL. Those submitting a NSGL will be placed on a fast track for peer reviewed
publication in the Journal of Environmental & Engineering Geophysics (JEEG).
The deadline for revised extended abstracts and draft NSGLs will be February 8,
2013. Accepted papers will be published in the Society of Exploration Geophysicists
(SEG) digital library (www.seg.org).
When submitting abstrcats, please select the topical sessions desctibed below.

Session 02:
Gravity and Magnetic methods: Engineering and Environmental Applications.
Session Organizer: Sid-Ali Ouadfeul, Leila Aliouane
Gravity and Magnetic methods have been widely used to study many problems and ambiguities in near surface geophysics. The Gravity method has been used for hydrocarbon exploration, regional geological studies, determination of isostatic compensation, and determination of glacier thickness. The Magnetic method has been used for locating buried tanks and drums, mineral and geothermal exploration, mapping buried utilities and pipelines, archaeological studies. We invite submissions that present the latest research and case studies showing the application of gravity/magnetic methods in engineering and environmental applications. Oral or poster presentations are welcome.
