Topics/Call fo Papers
The Geothermal Resources Council (GRC) have issued a call for papers for the world’s largest annual geothermal conference taking place September 29-October 2, 2013, in Las Vegas, Nevada, at the MGM Grand Hotel. Themed “A Global Resource, from Larderello to Las Vegas” the 37th Annual Meeting is sponsored by the Geothermal Resources Council.
The theme commemorates the advances the geothermal power industry has made in the 108 years since Prince Piero Ginori Conti tested the first ever geothermal power generator on 4 July 1904, at the Larderello dry steam field in Tuscany, Italy.
The GRC Annual Meeting is the industry’s largest annual gathering of leading geothermal energy scientists, producers, renewable energy industry stakeholders, regulators, utilities, and key associated business leaders. The four-day event will offer technical, policy, and market conference sessions, educational seminars, tours of local geothermal and renewable energy projects, and numerous networking opportunities. Registration also includes entry to the GEA Geothermal Energy Expo.
The GRC 2012 Annual Meeting attendees came from 33 different countries around the world, highlighting the GRC’s role in connecting the global community. With increasing interest in geothermal as a 24/7, 365, reliable source of renewable energy, the GRC is looking ahead to an even stronger attendance in 2013.
The GRC 2013 Annual Meeting planning committee will consider papers for its Technical and Poster Sessions covering a range of topics, both domestic and international: Business Development / Finance; Basin & Range / Cascades / Rocky Mountains; Direct Use / Heat Pump; Enhanced Geothermal Systems; Exploration / Resource Assessment / Management; Geology, Geophysics and Geochemistry; Geothermal Energy Associated with Oil and Gas Operations; Geothermal Project Case Studies; International; Power Operations / Maintenance / Production Technologies; Regulatory / Environmental Compliance / Policy Issues; and Utility and Transmission Issues.
Successful selection to present at the GRC 2013 Annual Meeting is prestigious and recognizes the presenter as a top industry expert. International participation is key to the success of the technical programs, and geothermal researchers and experts from around the world are encouraged to submit their work for consideration to be presented at the GRC 2013 Annual Meeting.
Anyone who wants to present at the GRC Annual Meeting must submit a paper. Authors may submit a poster and/or oral technical presentation. The paper submission deadline is May 3, 2013.
