DMGAnalytics 2013 - The 2013 International Workshop on Data Mining in Game Analytics (DMGAnalytics 2013)
Topics/Call fo Papers
Over the past decade, the global community has seen the video game industry rapidly grow. By 2013, the market is predicted to reach over $70 billion USD. Social and mobile games in recent years have greatly impacted the gaming market due to the pervasiveness of smartphone devices and social networking sites. Detailed user level data collected in in-game logs and social media platforms provide tremendous opportunities for studying human behaviors and for applying data mining techniques.
Data Mining for Game Analytics has been instrumental in real-time, large scale analysis of high-dimensional behavioral data. How do players interact with the game environment? How do they interact with one another? What sorts of activities and social interactions lead to stickiness? How do in-game activities and interactions lead to satisfaction and enjoyment and thus more purchasing?
The 2013 International Workshop on Data Mining in Game Analytics (DMGAnalytics 2013) will facilitate collaboration among different disciplines, including gaming industry, social media marketing, computer science, information systems, and social sciences.
Workshop Scope
DMGAnalytics 2013 encourages the following topics (but not limited to) related to application of data mining techniques to game analysis, game analytics, game mining:
Theoretical foundations in Data Mining
Privacy and security in game and behavior analysis
Data collection and integration techniques
