The conference theme this year will be “FTTH ? Celebrating a brighter future”.
The conference will focus on the following topics:
? The Film and Entertainment Industry in the FTTH Era: Unlimited bandwidth to end users enables new business models for the film and entertainment industry. Independent productions can be distributed through digital platforms and blockbusters get a new dimension by e.g. combining online gaming experience with the film content. The gaming industry has the chance to provide platform independent games through streaming platforms and fascinating new game services can be developed. We are looking for presentations that discuss those new ideas of the convergence of FTTH and film and entertainment industry.
? Financing of FTTH Networks: The financing of FTTH networks is an important topic today. We are looking for all kinds of presentations which cover topics like: financial models, financing sources, PPP financing, the role of government and public authorities in financing, the role of EIB and structural funds, case studies and success stories, innovative approaches e.g. by banks or investors etc.
? Content, Services and Applications: FTTH enables new and fascinating services. We are looking for case studies, success stories and new ideas for content, services and applications that need FTTH. Special focus in 2013 is the end user experience (all kinds of services which target the end customer including multimedia, gaming, teleworking, eLearning etc.) and the services which will help the public sector to increase the effectiveness of their tasks (e.g. eHealth, Ambient Assisted Living, care for elderly people, eGovernment etc.).
? Case Studies ? How to Market FTTH Networks: Connecting customers is a key success factor for FTTH networks. We are looking for presentations that present best practice experience on the marketing of FTTH networks.
? FTTH in Europe ? The Analyst Point of View: For our analyst session we invite analysts to submit their latest findings on the FTTH market in Europe and how FTTH deployments can be accelerated.
? Policy and Regulation ? Europe on its Way to the Digital Agenda: A dedicated policy and regulation session will focus on the necessary political and regulatory decisions to ensure that Europe can reach the objectives of the Digital Agenda.
This call for papers is open for all kind of submissions. Papers can be submitted by single persons, operators, engineering consultants, authorities, content developers, manufacturers, equipment vendors and all stakeholders of the FTTH world. The review will be done by the programme committee of the Board of Directors of the FTTH Council Europe. It will be a blind review, meaning that the reviewer only sees the title and the abstract but not the author(s). Any statements in the abstract which could indicate the author who/company which submitted the abstract will be removed for the review.
The FTTH Council Europe prefers neutral presentations and case study/real life experience presentations. Manufacturers and vendors can therefore increase the value of their abstract if the presentation is done through a customer.
The FTTH Council Europe will do the final selection of the papers. There is no obligation from the FTTH Council Europe to inform submitters about the reasons of accepting or rejecting a paper.
We are looking forward to receive your abstract!
