Passwords^12 is held in Oslo, Norway, during 3-5 December 2012. This is the only conference of its kind in the world, focusing ONLY on passwords and PIN codes in all forms, shapes and sizes. Anything from secure creation, storing, distribution and resetting, to stealing, cracking and criminal exploitation of passwords is on the agenda. The conference is organized by password guru Per Thorsheim, in cooperation with Professor Audun Jøsang of the University of Oslo. The main conference sponsor is FRISC (Forum for Research and Innovation in Security and Communications), the national information security research network funded by the Norwegian Research Council.
This is an opportunity to meet very prominent security experts, such as Joan Daemen who is co-inventor of both Rijndael (the AES crypto algorithm) and KECCAK (the recently announced winner of the SHA-3 hash algorithm competition).
Passwords^12 Venue: The conference is held at the Department of Informatics, University of Oslo, which is conveniently located in Oslo Research Park (Forskningsparken) about 4.5Km walking distance from downtown Oslo. The conference venue can also be reached by T-Train or tram in 5 minutes from downtown. Free Internet access (WiFi) is available during the conference.
