SMME 2013 - The International Workshop on Social Media & Mobility in Enterprises (SMME-2013)
Topics/Call fo Papers
1st Workshop ?Adoption of Social Media & Mobile Services in Enterprises“ at AINA 2013
In recent years social media concepts attracted millions of users. Based on their approach to enable participants to create user generated content, huge amounts of data were gathered on social media platforms. Typical classes of social media are wikis, blogs, discussion forums, but also newer platforms such as social network sites (SNS) (e.g. Facebook, Google+), microblogging (e.g. Twitter) or content sharing communities (e.g. YouTube, Flickr). Additionally, social business platform (e.g. Yammer, Lotus Connections, Jive) were created, which integrate several of these functionalities and may be set up as internal collaboration instruments in enterprises.
However, until now social media are mainly used for private purposes. Enterprises just started to explore the potentials of social media to increase business value. Following the academic discussion several problems arise when companies attempt to adopt social media. For enterprises it is challenging to identify promising use cases and to manage the processes of adoption, operation, and monitoring of social media.
As an additional important development, mobile technologies achieved a high degree of maturity within the last years. Mobile Internet access is available ubiquitously and at low costs. Smartphones are equipped with multiple communication interfaces, which provide a potential interconnectedness for various applications, e.g. access to web based social networks such as Facebook or Twitter or mobile community services. In most cases, the underlying networks depend on centralized infrastructures that are bound to stationary devices, such as access points, cellular mobile radios. In recent years, mobile phone applications (services that can be downloaded from app markets such as iTunes or Android market onto the mobile phones) have accelerated the diffusion of mobile networks and related concepts.
In this workshop we are looking for papers in the following fields (however it is not limited to these areas of research):
Social Media as an enabler for knowledge management in enterprises
Usage of Social Media for customer relationship management
Virtual Customer Integration
Social Media Analytics
Mobile Social Media
Mobile Business Intelligence
Mobile Services and E-Learning
Business Values of mobile services
