SSI 2013 - SSI 2013 : Smart Systems Integration - International Conference & Exhibition
Topics/Call fo Papers
Future smart world like internet of things, smart grids, smart cities - they all need intelligent systems, which combine different functionalities, communicate with each other and work reliably as well as energy autonomously. Such smart systems are able to sense and diagnose complex situations. They have not only the capability to predict but to decide and to interact with the environment. As they combine computational as well as physical aspects they are also called cyber-physical systems.
Smart systems hold not only enormous potential for a wide range of applications, they act as enablers for many future technologies. For that reason they are crucial for the competitiveness of companies and entire industry sectors.
The Smart Systems Integration Conference 2013 addresses innovative smart products, their manufacturing technologies and the basis for future systems - the international research work on smart technologies and smart materials. There will be special sessions related to best practice examples and to the strategy of the European Platform on the Smart Systems Integration and to actual developments in the USA. For the second time, MEMS Industry Group's MEMS Executive Congress Europe will be held in collaboration with the SSI one day before the conference.
On behalf of the committee, the co-chair ? Dr. Günter Lugert of Siemens AG and chairman of EpoSS Steering Committee ? and the local co-chairs from the Netherlands ? Dr. Sywert Brongersma (Holst Centre, IMEC), Prof. Dr. P. J. French (Delft University of Technology), Prof. Dr. Hercules Pereira Neves (IMEC), Prof. Dr. Albert van den Berg (University of Twente), Dr. Maurice van der Beek (Philips Research) and Dr. André van Geelen (EPCOS Netherland BV) ? I look forward to receive your application-oriented and / or scientific submission.
