Colombo is the commercial capital and the largest city in Sri Lanka bounded by the Kelani River from north. It is the main trading hub of the country that’s lively both by day and night. It has great 5 star accommodation, restaurants, cafes, pubs and night clubs. Many different ethnic (Sinhala, Tamil and Muslim) and religious (Buddhist, Hindu, Muslim, Christian) groups live in this city, which has many religious places of worship of all the different religions. The main trading area in the city is the busy Fort and Pettah area near the Beira lake, which is a maze of streets and lanes, crowded with shops displaying goods of every description. The Colombo port is also located in the city and is the largest and busiest port. It is an important terminal in Asia because of its strategic location in the Indian Ocean.

Colombo boasts an interesting history with its ancient ruins and monuments as well as a unique blend of modernization. The Museum, the National Archives, the Independence Square, Old Christian churches, ancient Buddhist temples like Gangaramaya and other religious places. In addition there is the Vihara Maha Devi park, the Royal Colombo Golf Club, other leading sports clubs like the CH & FC, the National Art Gallery, the Galle Face Esplanade and the Dehiwela Zoo.

The city is currently going through changes to make it even more attractive as a garden city.
