The 20th International Conference on Systems, Signals and Image Processing, IWSSIP 2013, will take place in Bucharest, Romania, from June 20th to June 22nd, 2013, being hosted by the University “Politehnica” of Bucharest. The anniversary IWSSIP 2013 follows the successful events held in Budapest, Manchester, Poznan, Zagreb, Bratislava, Maribor, Bucharest, Prague, Chalkida, Rio de Janeiro, Sarajevo and Vienna.
IWSSIP is a well established international conference on theoretical, experimental, and applied signal processing techniques. IWSSIP brings together researchers and developers from both academia and industry to report on the latest scientific and theoretical advances, to discuss and debate major issues, to demonstrate state of-the-art systems, and trace the road to the future. The proceedings of IWSSIP 2013 will be published in IEEE Xplore. More details can be found on http://iwssip.dsp.pub.ro/.
Continuing the tradition established by its previous editions, the program of IWSSIP 2013 will include keynote and special lectures presented by eminent experts in the field, peer-reviewed contributed papers, posters, and special sessions. The topics include signal processing, image and video processing, multimedia, as well as wireless communications, networks, and security. A special attention will be given to interdisciplinary areas at the confluence of Engineering and Life Sciences, such as Biomedical Signal and Image acquisition, processing and analysis, Signal and Image approaches to Bioinformatics and other related emerging domains.
Prospective authors are invited to submit full-length, four-pages long papers (including figures and references) of novel research material. All papers will be reviewed by at least two independent reviewers and will be accepted based on originality, significance, and clarity. As previously, we target an acceptance rate of about 50%. The review
The Best Student Paper Award initiated starting the 2012 edition will be continued in 2013. The rules can be found on the conference website
IWSSIP 2013 is organized by the University "Politehnica" of Bucharest, the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, with the support of the Romanian Ministry of Education, Research, Youth and Sport, the Romanian Academy, the IEEE Region 8, and IEEE Romania Section. The event will be held in conjunction with ISSCS 2013, Technical University of Iasi, Romania, July 11-12, 2013.s
