Confirmed keynote speakers include Gunnar von Heijne, Philip Greene, Piero Carninci, Takashi Ito, Eric Xing and Zhiping Weng. They will be joined by several prominent invited speakers in special sessions including: computational tools for NGS, cancer informatics, and cloud and work flows for reproducible biology. ISCB is known for hosting a variety of international meetings including ISMB, while BGI of Shenzhen is one of the world\'s largest sequencing centers. Shenzhen is a booming city with easy access from adjacent Hong Kong and a pleasant climate during December.
About ISCB
The International Society for Computational Biology serves to advance the understanding of living systems through computation. With over 3,000 members from more than 70 countries, ISCB addresses scientific policies, provides access to high quality publications, organizes meetings, and serves as a portal to information about training, education, employment and news from related fields. ISCB-Asia 2012 is the second of this newest conference series for ISCB and, as the Society’s first meeting in China, is being co-hosted with the first ShenZhen Conference on Computational Genomics. The previous ISCB-Asia meeting was held jointly with the tenth annual InCoB meeting of the Asia-Pacific Bioinformatics Network in Malaysia in 2011. For more information about ISCB please visit www.iscb.org.
About SCCG
The ShenZhen Conference on Computational Genomics is a first time conference, and being held in conjunction with the second ISCB-Asia. The two meetings will be presented as one, with all talks and events presented under the combined conference name for the convenience of all participants. The local and international scientific community is highly encouraged to participate in this extraordinary event that is bringing together some of the world’s thought leaders in the fields of computational biology, biomedical informatics, and genomics, as well as providing a forum for the presentation of the excellent research being done in labs and institutes around the world.
BGI
As the host institution providing conference support and organizational expertise, BGI has established its own technical platforms based on large-scale genome sequencing, efficient bioinformatics analyses, and become one of the leading genomics institutes in the world. The BGI conference team will do their best to ensure your stay in ShenZhen is comfortable and memorable, and will provide detailed schedule and scientific presentation information as it becomes available.
