IEEE PerCom 2013 - Its First International Workshop on Cognitive Computing and Communication (C3) for Systems
March 18-22, San Diego, CA, USA
Affiliated With IEEE PerCom 2013: http://www.percom.org/?q=listofworkshops
"Cognitive" design is very important in pervasive computing, communication as well as systems. Typically it is based on the utilization of machine learning and artificial intelligence algorithms. For example, sensors can be designed with smart, compressive sampling in order to reduce sensor samples before they are processed further, sensor systems can be made highly intelligent by employing cognition through the use of distributed machine learning mechanisms, and wireless platforms can be made cognitive through cognitive radios.
This international workshop aims to bring researchers together to exchange ideas on the applications of cognitive computing and communications (C3) for designing smart pervasive systems. Examples of these systems include cognitive radios, biomedical systems, structure health monitoring, smart grid, robots, GENI, and others. The workshop will include around 15 presentations, posters, demos, and a panel discusison.
The papers submitted to this workshop can be about any of the following topics:
? Cognitive Computing: Compressive sensing and machine learning for signal pattern analysis, and artificial intelligence for cyber-physical interactions, and others.
? Cognitive Communications: Cognitive and software defined radios, bio-inspired communication schemes, and other intelligent communication systems, etc.
? C3 for Pervasive Systems. Applications of C3 techniques for various pervasive computing applications such as wireless and mobile platforms, sensor and actor networks, and smart systems including the biomedical systems, structure health monitoring, smart grid, robots, GENI, and others.
All papers will be submitted electronically through EDAS. Submitted papers will undergo a rigorous and double-blind review process handled by the Technical Program Committee. Authors' names must not appear in the paper. Camera-ready versions of accepted papers will be limited to 6 pages in IEEE 8.5x11 conference format, and formatted in accordance with the IEEE Computer Society author guidelines. The IEEE LaTeX and Microsoft Word templates, as well as information for formatting the manuscript can be found http://www.computer.org/portal/web/cscps/formattin... .
