Mobile Computing over Cloud: Technologies, Services, and Applications
Editors: Joel J. P. C. Rodrigues, Kai Lin, and Jaime Lloret
INTRODUCTION
Mobile computing over cloud is a potential technology that uses mobile devices in combination with cloud computing.
This book wants to take account of developments and trends that are taking place in the area of mobile computing over
cloud.
Providing optimal services for mobile users over cloud do not need a powerful configuration since all the data and
complicated computing modules can be processed in the clouds. Nowadays, many research of this area are likely to
enter the domain with carrier-cloud services and give new chances for mobile network providers. It will also help to
advance the mobile cloud in industry and corporate settings.
OBJECTIVES AND MISSION
The mission of the book is to be a fundamental source for the advancement of knowledge, application, and practice in
the interdisciplinary areas of mobile network and cloud computing. The book will address innovative concepts and
critical issues in the emerging field of vehicular wireless network.
The book seeks to show interesting research experiences and applications of mobile computing over cloud around the
world. It can help to disseminate them. The book will be an important way to communicate important concepts of mobile
computing over cloud.
TOPICS
We invite authors to submit original technical chapters offering novel research contributions in any aspect of mobile
computing over cloud, covering but not limited to the topics of interest listed below:
- Applications of mobile computing over cloud
- Networks and systems design
- Mobility measurement, modeling, and simulation
- Energy management
- Physical layer and antenna technologies
- Protocols for mobile computing over cloud
- Security and privacy
- Simulation and experimentation of mobile computing over cloud
- Mobile learning over cloud
- Mobile healthcare over cloud
- Mobile commerce over cloud
- In-network processing and aggregation
SUBMISSION PROCEDURE
Researchers and practitioners are invited to submit 2-3 page proposals describing the objectives and approach of each
proposed chapter. The final deadline for proposals is June 1, 2012, but the editors will begin reviewing proposals
and providing feedback immediately.
Authors of accepted proposals will be notified by June 30, 2012 and sent chapter guidelines. Full chapters will be
due on October 1, 2012. All submitted chapters will undergo a double-blind peer review process. Contributors may also
be invited to serve as reviewers for the project.
