LibreOffice 2012 - LibreOffice Conference 2012
Topics/Call fo Papers
The Document Foundation (TDF) has announced that the Call for Papers for this year's upcoming LibreOffice Conference is now open. The 2012 event for the open source LibreOffice productivity suite will take place 17-19 October in Berlin, Germany.
Those planning to attend the conference are invited to submit proposals for talks and workshops on one of five topics. These include the Open Document Format (ODF) Plugfest, interoperability, and development areas such as technology, APIs and extensions. Other suggestions include localisation and documentation for a community track, and certification and support for best practice and migration.
The call for papers deadline is 15 August; submissions will be evaluated by a committee of community members. The final conference program is expected to be announced "in early September".
"Following the founding of The Document Foundation in February, we are proud to also have the LibreOffice Conference come to Berlin," said Florian Effenberger, Chairman of the Board at The Document Foundation, adding, "This is a major event, not only for those involved in the project, but also for the everyone interested in the use of free office software and open standards."
