ABMS 2012 - Special Session on Agent-Based Modeling and Simulation - ABMS 2012
Topics/Call fo Papers
Conference name: Special Session on Agent-Based Modeling and Simulation - ABMS 2012
In conjunction with the 2nd International Conference on Simulation and Modeling Methodologies, Technologies and Applications - SIMULTECH 2012
ABMS is a joint event between SIMULTECH and ICINCO.
Venue: Rome, Italy
Conference date: 28 - 31 July, 2012
Chair :
Joaquim Filipe
Polytechnic Institute of Setúbal / INSTICC
Portugal
SCOPE
Agent-based modeling and simulation involves computational models for simulating the actions and interactions of autonomous agents (both individual or collective entities such as organizations or groups) in order to understand complex phenomena. It may combine elements of decision theory, distributed systems, computational sociology, multi-agent systems, robotics, and evolutionary programming. There are many approaches to intelligent software agent development, ranging from reactive agents to deliberative agents, with different levels of efficiency and effectiveness. Agent-based models have been used since the mid-1990s to solve a variety of business and technology problems. Examples of applications include supply chain optimization and logistics, modeling of consumer behavior, social network effects, portfolio management or traffic congestion.
The ABMS special session invites quality papers describing original work including research ideas, case-studies and new findings on methodological and technological aspects related to agent-based modeling and simulation, in particular papers describing methods, techniques, recent advances, applications and tools.
