Special Issue on Evolutionary Computation in Power Industry
CALL FOR PAPERS
International Journal of Energy Optimization and Engineering (IJEOE)
www.igi-global.com/IJEOE
http://www.ivanzelinka.eu/hp/Call_for_Papers.html
Submission Deadline: May 15, 2012
SCOPE AND OBJECTIVES
Evolutionary Algorithms (EA) is one of the most important tools for complex systems evaluation. Some of the recent EA’s are Differential Evolution, Particle Swarm (Swarm Intelligence), Scatter Search, and Self-Organizing Migrating Algorithm, amongst others. Other techniques, such as Genetic Programming or similar techniques, are widely used today in order to get elegant solutions of complex systems. Examples of such systems can be seen in ordinary world around us and of course in almost every science discipline, including such “exotic” domains like the earth’s atmosphere, turbulent fluids, economies (exchange rate and stock markets), population growth, physics (control of plasma) and chemistry for example.
Evolutionary algorithms are also used in the power management and industry to solve various problems in power distribution, intelligent buildings etc.
This issue will establish a forum for the presentation and discussion of recent trends in the area of applications of EAs in power management and power industry for researchers, students and academics.
The special issue will include applications of various evolutionary methods in power management and industry like (but is not limited to) the following:
§ Evolution in Grid Mathematica and related software
§ Intelligent buildings
§ Power plant, energy distribution and control
§ Optimal use of power sources
§ Power blackout, its modeling and prediction
§ Evolutionary design of power devices
§ Genetic Programming Techniques
§ Evolution and Cloud Computing
§ Application of techniques like artificial immune systems, distributed computing, evolvable system, memetic algorithms, ant colonies, parallel evolutionary algorithms, self organizing systems, swarm intelligence, cultural algorithms, quantum annealing, gravitational search method
PAPER SUBMISSIONS
You are invited to submit original and unpublished research works on the mentioned and other topics related to evolutionary computation in power management and design of the devices used in the power generation industry. Submitted papers must not have been published or simultaneously submitted elsewhere. Submission should include a cover page with authors' names, affiliation addresses, fax numbers, phone numbers, and email addresses. Please, indicate clearly the corresponding author and include up to 6 keywords from the above list of topics and an abstract of no more than 400 words. The full manuscript should be prepared exactly according to guidelines accessible at www.igi-global.com/IJEOE. Submit a PDF copy of your full manuscript via email to the Workshop organizer at ivan.zelinka-AT-ieee.org.
Only PDF files will be accepted. Each paper will receive a minimum of three reviews. Papers will be selected based on their originality, relevance, technical clarity and presentation.
All accepted papers are expected to be published with ISBN by the IGI Global and will be available online through IGI Global website.
