ICON 2012 - 2012 18th IEEE International Conference on Networks (ICON)
Topics/Call fo Papers
The 18th IEEE International Conference on Networks (ICON2012) will be held in Singapore. One day of tutorials and two days of technical presentations are planned for the conference. The conference will also include invited speakers and special sessions. ICON2012 will provide an open forum for researchers, engineers and academia to exchange the latest innovations and research advancements on next-generation computer network architectures, protocols and algorithms (wired, wireless, ad-hoc, mesh, sensor), content networking and multimedia delivery technologies, as well as centralized and distributed networked systems, applications and services. Contributions describing original research, surveys and applications are solicited. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to, the following areas:
Content distribution networks
Delay tolerant networks
Distributed multimedia systems
DLNA, uPnP and inter-networking
Flow and congestion control
Home LAN, body and personal area networks
Media and session handoffs and roaming
Multicasting and application-level routing
Multimedia networks and delivery
Network architectures and middleware
Network fault-tolerance, reliability
Network I/O and storage area networks
Network pricing and billing
Network protocols, design and challenges
Networking issues and challenges in cloud/grid computing
Networking issues and challenges in smart-grid domains
Networking issues and challenges in storage area networks
Networking issues in multimedia, web and gaming applications
Networking issues, challenges in rural living
Networks research in military and space applications
Next-generation networks
Novel networked systems, applications and services
Optical and photonic networks
Peer-to-peer and overlay networking
Quality of service / quality of experience
Resource and service discovery technologies
Routing, switching and addressing
Scalable and robust media streaming protocols
Scheduling and resource management
Tools and techniques for network simulation and measurement
Traffic engineering and management
Wired/wireless mesh, mobile, ad-hoc networks
Special / Plenary Sessions
Proposals for Special / Plenary Sessions may be submitted to the Technical Program Co-Chairs via email at secretariat-AT-ieee-icon.org by May 01, 2012.
Tutorial Proposals
Proposals for full- or half-day tutorial topics are solicited. Each proposal should be about 1000 words long and should include a synopsis, tutorial outline and brief speaker's biography. Please submit your proposals to the Tutorial Chair via email at secretariat-AT-ieee-icon.org by May 01, 2012.
Best Paper Awards
Awards will be given for the best paper and the best student paper at the conference. To be eligible for the best student paper award, a student or group of students must be primary contributors to the paper. Papers to be considered for the student paper award should be identified as such during the paper submission.
