SBRN is the leading conference in Brazil dedicated to Neural Networks
(NNs) and other models of Computational Intelligence (CI) such as
Fuzzy Logic and Evolutionary Computing. The conference is focused on
original theories and novel applications dealing with the use and
analysis of computational intelligence techniques. SBRN 2012 will be
held jointly with the "XXI Brazilian Symposium on Artificial
Intelligence" (SBIA) and "IX Encontro de Inteligência Artificial"
(ENIA) as part of the 2012 Brazilian Conference on Intelligent System
(BRACIS 2012). BRACIS 2012 will take place at Curitiba- PR, Brazil, in
October 20-25, 2012.
SBRN covers all topics in CI and applications including, but is not limited to:
- Neural Networks
- Evolutionary Computation
- Fuzzy Systems
- Swarm Intelligence
- Molecular and quantum computing
- Machine Learning
- Hybrid Systems
- Bioinformatics and bioengineering
- Combinatorial and numerical optimization
- Forecasting
- Pattern Recognition
The invited speakers for SBRN 2012 are Prof Kenneth A. De Jong (George
Mason University, EUA) and Prof Thomas G. Dietterich (Oregon State
University, EUA).
Important Dates
*Deadline Submission for Papers (extended):* April 16, 2012
*Acceptance notification:* May 25, 2012
*Final camera-ready papers due:* June 22, 2012
Proceedings
Like previous SBRN editions, the proceedings will be published by CPS,
a division of IEEE CS Press. Selected papers will be published in
special issues of several international journals (to be announced).
Papers must be written in *English *and *must not be* longer than 6
pages, including all tables, figures, and references (style of the
IEEE Computer Society Press). Formatting instructions, as well as
templates for Word and /LaTeX/, can be found in

Submission
Papers must be submitted in PDF files using the JEMS submission system at
https://submissoes.sbc.org.br/home.cgi?c=1475
The deadline for paper registration/upload is *April 16th, 2012, 23:55 BRST.*
By submitting papers to SBRN 2012, the authors agree that in case of
acceptance at least one author registers to the conference and
presents the paper. Furthermore, it is the conference policy that at
least one of the authors of accepted papers has to register **before**
the deadline for sending the camera-ready paper. Accepted papers
without the respective author registration **before* *the deadline
will not be included in the proceedings.
All submitted papers will be reviewed by at least two experts in the field.
