IJIS Special Issue on Data -Oriented Intelligence (DOI)
==About IJIS==
Intelligent science is an interdisciplinary subject which dedicates to joint research on basic theory and technology of intelligence by brain science, cognitive science, artificial intelligence and others. The International Journal of Intelligence Science (IJIS) aims to provide an international forum for researchers, scholars, and engineers in above area to publish high quality and refereed papers, disseminate latest theoretical results as well as their applications in this field all over the world. (IJIS URL: http://www.scirp.org/journal/ijis/)
==About the DOI Special Issue==
The purpose of this special issue is to promote researches in one of the substantial topics in intelligence science ? data-oriented intelligence. Due to the ever-growing applications of computing technology, huge amount of data is generated at unprecedented rate in diverse fields such as economic business, medical examinations, social activities, daily educations, sensor networks, etc. Though useful information might lie in the collected data, extracting them into insightful knowledge with human-accessible form presents a demanding and sophisticated undertaking.
Within the past three decades, considerable theories and techniques have been proposed to processing, analyzing, modeling and visualizing data-intensive tasks in automatic and intelligent ways. Despite the great achievements gained so far, there are numerous fascinating yet challenging issues to be further investigated. This special issue solicits recent cutting-edge and promising progresses in data-oriented intelligence research. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
* Data and knowledge representation
* Data acquisition and management
* Data mining and knowledge discovery
* Data-centric applications
* Machine learning
* Information retrieval
* Knowledge and information systems
* Visualization and comprehensibility
* Web intelligence
* Bioinformatics
==Submission and Review ==
Submissions are expected to represent high-quality, significant contributions in related areas of data-oriented intelligence. Manuscripts should be prepared in accordance with the journal’s formatting requirements (IJIS authors’ guidelines: http://www.scirp.org/Journal/ForAuthors.aspx?Journ...).
Authors must register with the submission system and submit their manuscript online (http://papersubmission.scirp.org/admin/initLoginAc...). The PDF version of the submission should also be emailed to the guest editor for timely manuscript tracking (Dr. Min-Ling Zhang: zhangml-AT-seu.edu.cn).
Each submission will be rigorously peer-reviewed in terms of novelty of content, clarity of presentation, solidness of experiments, as well as other pertinent aspects. Papers will be published electronically shortly after acceptance, where rapid and wide-range visibility can be delivered to interested readers owing to the free open-access policy of IJIS.
==Tentative Schedule==
Submission Deadline: June 30th, 2012
Decision Notification: August 31st, 2012
Camera-Ready Due: September 15, 2012
Printed Publication: To be announced
