The FOSSC-Oman’2013 Conference is jointly organized by the Communication and Information Research Center at Sultan Qaboos University (SQU), and the Information Technology Authority (ITA), on Free and Open Source Software (FOSS). The Main goal is to support the National Initiative on deployment of FOSS.
The event is scheduled for two days and targets ICT professionals, staff, students, and the broad community in Oman to contribute in promoting awareness and dissemination of the use and development of free and open source software.
The FOSSC-Oman’2013 is the first edition of this conference which will be held every two years in Oman. This will offer a good opportunity to ICT managers, professionals, developers, users and interested persons from Oman and elsewhere to discover, discuss and exchange views on FOSS related issues.
The event will also provide an opportunity to network different groups of users, benefit from insightful lectures delivered at the conference, and share mutual experiences and implementations of FOSS products.
The organizing committee is inviting all of these individuals and groups to share their achievements in the vast array of free and open source software which is transforming ICT domain across the globe.

Scope:
The range of targeted topics is very broad, but priority is given to subjects on real world applications in home, education, research and business. Based on this, the program committee is inviting proposals for paper presentations, demonstrations and poster contributions on any topic relevant to FOSS. These include but not limited to the following:
