http://www.poem2012.net
AIMS and SCOPE
PoEM 2012 is the 5th IFIP WG 8.1 working conference on the Practice
of Enterprise Modeling. Since 2008, the focus of PoEM has been on
improving the understanding of the practice of EM by offering a
forum for sharing experiences and knowledge between the academic
community and practitioners from industry and the public sector.
The 2012 edition of PoEM addresses both, the practice of enterprise
modeling and the practice of applying enterprise models for
organizational purposes. This includes areas such as EM and
information system development, enterprise architecture, business
and IT alignment, EM and business process improvement, or
competence modeling.
AREAS of INTEREST
The main areas of interest include, but are not limited to:
enterprise modeling case studies and experiences
enterprise architecture modeling methods
enterprise architecture tools
collaborative enterprise modeling
mobile modeling support
evaluation of enterprise modeling methods
the process of modeling
guidelines for modeling
reuse of enterprise models
modeling languages
modeling tools and workbenches
enterprise model management
management of EM projects
use of EM in different contexts
facilitation and group dynamics
the competency of modelers and modeling teams
model and process quality aspects
success factors in enterprise modeling
teaching the practice
enterprise modeling and agile development
enterprise knowledge architectures
standardization issues and reference models
method engineering in enterprise modeling
concordance between EM and information systems development
PAPER TYPES
Practitioner papers. In addition to experience papers and research
papers (see below) PoEM 2012 in particular calls for submissions
from practitioners in industry and the public sector. Practitioner
papers may address any aspect of EM or enterprise architectures
relevant from a practitioner?s point of view. PoEM will establish a
specific review procedure for this paper type outside the
traditional scientific evaluation style.
Experience papers present problems or challenges encountered in
practice, relate success and failure stories, or report on industrial
cases and practices. The focus is on lessons learned. The practice
must be clearly described. Readers should be able to draw conclusions
for their own practice. Scientific reflection on problems and
practices in industry also falls into this category.
Research papers describe original research contributions (theoretical,
methodological or conceptual) to the area of EM. A research paper
should clearly describe the problem tackled, the state of the art,
the solution suggested and the benefits of the contribution.
Short papers can be used to present work in progress or to describe
new research positions or approaches, new methods and tools or
emerging new types of EM challenges. We also invite PhD students or
Master students to present their ongoing thesis or research work.
PUBLICATIONS
Accepted experience papers and research papers will be published in
Springer Lecture Notes in Business Information Processing (LNBIP).
Short papers and practitioner papers will be published in local
proceedings with ISBN.
