Topics/Call fo Papers
Modeling and Simulation of Computer and Communications Networks in Education
(http://wintersim.org/node/33)
A Track in the WINTER SIMULATION CONFERENCE 2012
December 9-12, Berlin, Germany
(http://wintersim.org)
In this track, we are looking for high quality submissions that describe novel, interesting uses of modeling and simulation applied to the teaching of topics in computer and communication networks. The range of topics we envision includes, but is not limited to:
- The development of modeling and simulation tools for teaching in undergraduate, graduate, and professional courses on computer and communication networks.
- The application of existing simulators in the classroom context.
- The development of ancillary tools to improve the usability of existing simulators for use in the classroom context.
- Pedagogical approaches and experiences centered on the application of modeling and simulation.
- The development of instructional materials based on modeling and simulation.
Inquiries about this track should be directed to:
L. Felipe Perrone, Bucknell University (perrone at bucknell dot edu)
The Winter Simulation Conference (WSC) is the premier international forum for disseminating recent advances in the field of dynamic systems modeling and simulation. In addition to a technical program of unsurpassed scope and quality, WSC provides the central meeting place for simulation practitioners, researchers, and vendors. Research in modeling and simulation is propelled by fostering cross fertilization between various disciplines.
The WSC 2012 Conference information, including the Author Kit, is now available at http://wintersim.org. We strongly urge you to refer to the 2012 Author's Kit and to use the available templates to format your paper. Full compliance with the WSC formatting requirements will eliminate all unnecessary processing of your manuscript and greatly help us in respecting the tight conference schedule. Again this year, papers will be submitted using the conference Paper Management System. The system will ask you to create an account before you can upload your paper. If you created an account last year, it will be recognized by the system.
Important dates:
April 2, 2012: regular paper submission
June 4, 2012: author notification
July 16, 2012: final papers due
August 20, 2012: poster and PhD coll. submission
October 1, 2012: author notification
