Topics/Call fo Papers

Although some who attended the 2012 edition of FETC are still unpacking their notes, it is already time for many to begin thinking about the next year’s conference. In fact, the call for papers, during which those who want to lead sessions or present papers during the event, will open March 1.
That is the day complete details and instructions on the call for presentations will be available at cfp.fetc.org. The call for presentations is for all workshop, BYOD, and concurrent sessions. The deadline for submitting proposals will be May 31, 2012.
The submission process is conducted entirely online. Applicants will be able to go to the website and submit proposed session titles, session descriptions, and other details.
Jennifer Womble, program manager for 1105 Media education events, said applicants from all over the world are invited to submit "their best practices and future visions for education." The candidates most likely to be chosen by a panel of industry experts who will examine all proposals are those who are strong speakers who have knowledge and background in educational technology as well as rich experiences to share, she said.
According to Womble, there are no specific requirements for speakers, and she pointed out that classroom teachers with significant experience or knowledge to share are just as welcome as seasoned professional speakers or district or state technology coordinators. She said of particular interest will be those who can demonstrate knowledge in emerging technologies or those who have solid experience with tried-and-true results of technological implementation in classrooms and schools.
"The heart and soul of a successful FETC are the people who are out there every day making technology work as they prepare students for the future," Womble said.
FETC 2013 will be held in Orlando's Orange County Convention Center
Jan. 28-31, 2013.
