SEBD 2012 - 20th Italian Symposium on Advanced Database Systems

Currently at its twentieth edition, SEBD is the major annual event of the Italian research community in the database field. The symposium is thought of as a gathering forum to meet, discuss and exchange experience among all those who, both in the academy and industry, are interested in database theory and systems, and in all their broad range of applications.

Submission Instructions
SEBD 2012 invites submissions of research, industry, and application contributions as well as software demonstrations.
Research papers, describing original ideas on fundamental aspects of all forms of database systems and technology, are solicited. Moreover, extended abstracts containing descriptions of ongoing projects or presenting results already published are also welcome:
research papers: 12 pages maximum;
extended abstracts: 8 pages maximum.
Papers must be written in English. Papers will be peer-reviewed by at least 3 members of the program committee. Selection will be based on originality, clarity, and technical quality.
SEBD 2012 submissions must be in electronic form in Portable Document Format (PDF) format. Papers must be formatted using the Springer Lecture Notes in Computer Science (LNCS) style available at http://www.springer.de/comp/lncs/authors.html.

Accepted papers and extended abstracts will be published in the proceedings of the symposium with ISBN.
At SEBD 2012 we plan to continue the Poster Track introduced at SEBD 2011. Regardless of their original form (full paper or extended abstract), some of the submissions might be accepted as a poster paper. The main difference between regular and poster papers will be in the way they will be presented at the conference. While regular papers will be assigned individual time-slots in the conference program, poster papers will be presented during dedicated sessions.
Best Student Paper Award
Students and post-docs researchers are strongly encouraged to submit papers presenting the results of research activities in the fields covered by the conference topics. Papers must be authored only by PhD student(s) or by post-doc(s) who defended their theses after 1/1/2010. The SEBD Steering Committee will select the best paper to be awarded.
