CALL FOR PAPERS
[Scope]
1st International ICST Workshop on C-RAN (C-RAN2012) will be held in conjunction with CHINACOM 2012 in Kunming, China, August 7, 2012. The objective of this workshop is to provide a forum for researchers and technologists to present new ideas and contributions in the form of technical papers, panel discussions and tutorials of ideas in the field of “Centralized baseband, Collaborative radio, and real-time Cloud computing RAN (C-RAN)”. It is intended to bring together mobile communications and RAN researchers to discuss the current status, technical challenges, fundamental issues, and future applications in the form of technical sessions and tutorials.

Original contributions previously unpublished are solicited in relevant areas including (but not limited to) the following Topics:
? SDR for Multi-mode Single RAN, research, implementation and evaluation
? Large scale Pool principle and design, performance evaluation
? DSP/SoC/GPU/CPU for physical layer processing
? Network evolution/transport network evolution
? CoMP and other collaborative radio technologies
? High speed I/Q data compression, CPRI interface redefinition
? Real-time task virtualization
? High efficient, wideband, configurable Radio Unit, RF front end, Amplifier technology
? WDM/OTN/Microwave transmission technology for CPRI
? Service on the Edge with Distributed Service Network
? Testbed results
[Paper submission]
C-RAN2012 accepts only novel, previously unpublished papers in the area of Centralized baseband, Collaborative radio, and real-time Cloud computing RAN. Prospective Authors are encouraged to submit a 5-page IEEE conference style paper (including all text, figures, and references) through EAI 'Confy' system at Confy , and have to comply with the IEEE format (see Author's kit section ). Before submitting the paper please sign up for EAI user account at eai.eu .
(After signing up you will receive a confirmation email with an activation link. You need to follow the link to activate your EAI membership.) All accepted and presented papers will be published together with ChinaCom 2012 proceedings and available on IEEE eXplore database and indexed by Engineering Information (EI). (pending)
