Second Iberian Workshop on Serious Games and Meaningful Play (SGaMePlay 2012)
Scope
Digital Games, also referred as Video Games, are becoming an important and disseminated cultural product enabled by several concurrent factors such as: several recent technological developments, the high availability of powerful and mobile but inexpensive computational platforms, and the increased literacy of the population in respect to information technologies. Traditionally, Digital Games have been mainly designed for entertainment purposes. However, as it happens with conventional games, game play is a highly structured activity that can be designed to result in a meaningful play. Serious Games have many applications domains such as education, training, physical and cognitive rehabilitation, urban planning, etc.
