As always, the Association for African American Historical Research and Preservation strives, with its conferences, to bring together a wide audience of university-based scholars, community historians, preservationists, and the general public. AAAHRP conferences provide an excellent setting for anyone with an interest in black history to meet and interact, and where scholars from various disciplines have the opportunity to impart and exchange ideas.
Theme: Unrestricted Black History, a Journey of Discovery.
We welcome and are now accepting?without restrictions as to chronological or geographical boundaries?proposals for individual papers, panels, and workshops related to the theme.
If you have not presented at any of the previous AAAHRP conferences, please use the following guidelines:
Your proposal should have your name, academic or other affiliation, address, phone number, and E-mail address as the heading. The body should include a tentative title of your paper, panel, or workshop, and an abstract of 250 to 350 words.
Proposal Deadline: August 1, 2012. Because of the high demand for participation at AAAHRP conferences, early submission is highly recommended. Send electronically to history3-AT-comcast.net. The subject of your E-mail should be β2013 Conference Proposal.β Full drafts of selected papers are due no later than October 15, 2012.
