You are invited to participate in The 2010 Global Conference on Business and Finance (GCBF) â?“ Kailua-Kona, Hawaii. The Conference, sponsored by The Institute for Business and Finance Research, LLC (IBFR), will be held from January 3-6, 2010 at Keauhou Beach Resort in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii.
Theoretical and empirical papers in all areas of business, finance, marketing, management, accounting, MIS, public administration, economics, business law, business education, agribusiness, health care administration and related fields are welcome. Papers do not need to be global in nature. English and Spanish language sessions will be offered. An Internet Session will be offered for those unable to make the trip to Kailua-Kona.

Journal Publication Opportunities

Publication in the Refereed Conference Proceedings (Optional)
Publishing in the Refereed Conference Proceedings is free to registered and paid conference attendees. Conference proceedings are published under the Title "Global Conference on Business and Finance Proceedings," ISSN 1931-0285, CD format, and ISSN 1941-9589 online format. You can publish a 200-word abstract, a 5-page version of your paper or a full paper (not to exceed 12 properly formatted pages). All proceedings submissions must be in MS Word and must be formatted according to our proceedings guidelines located at www.theIBFR.com/guidelines.htm. Your acceptance letter will include detailed information on how to publish in the refereed conference proceedings.
Outstanding Research Award
Registered and paid attendees can submit their paper for award consideration and possible publication in one of our journals. Award winners will receive a certificate and Award Plaque at the award luncheon. An acceptance letter and reviewerâ?™s comments are provided for award-winning papers. Award winners are required to properly format their document and make any other changes required by the reviewers and/or editor prior to journal publication. Please note that there is a $25 per page publication fee for papers that are published in the journals. Submissions to the award competition are treated in the same fashion as a journal submission. Thus, all award-winning submissions are subject to a double-blind review process. Submitting a paper for award consideration implies that your paper has not been published elsewhere and is not under publication consideration elsewhere. It also implies that you are prepared to pay the publication fee if your paper wins an award.
Best in Session Award
Based on a peer-review process, in each session, a paper will be selected as the best paper in session for an award. Best in Session Award Winners will receive a certificate at the award luncheon and are invited to submit their papers to our regular review process for possible publication.

Submit a 200-word abstract, work-in process or full paper to: submissions-AT-theIBFR.com Early submissions are greatly appreciated. All submissions must be in Microsoft Word or Acrobat PDF format. Include the contact information for all authors on the first page of the document. You will receive an email containing an acceptance or rejection letter within 10 business days. The letter will contain a submission number that you should include in all further correspondences. Directions will be provided for submitting your paper to the conference proceedings and for award consideration along with your acceptance letter.
CONFERENCE FEES

Conference registration is US$320 for the first paper. Non-presenting participants are welcome and are subject to the US$320 registration fee. The registration fee for full-time students is $295 (documentation of full-time student status is required). There is an US$80 fee for each additional paper. A $50 late fee applies for registration fees received after November 23, 2009. If your payment is not received by December 2, 2009, your participation will be cancelled. Food and Beverage
Horâ?™dourves and soft drinks will be provided by the Institute for Business and Finance Research. The networking luncheon will be sponsored by Business Education & Accreditation. The award luncheon will be sponsored by Accounting & Taxation. Additional luncheon tickets are available for purchase for those participants attending with a guest(s) or spouse. The price per ticket is $30.

We encourage you to stay at the conference hotel and to arrange for your lodging early. Kailua-Kona is a popular destination at this time of year and hotels regularly sell out. We have arranged for a small block of rooms at the Keauhou Beach Resort at the special rate of $130 for single or double occupancy per night, $180 for triple occupancy, plus taxes (11.416%) and fees (one-time mandatory $7.29 per person luggage handling fee). These rates include a complimentary buffet breakfast and free self parking. Valet parking is available for $10 per day. These Group rates will be honored, Friday January 1 through Saturday, January 9, 2009. These rates are available for booking until December 1, 2009, or until the available block of rooms is reserved, whichever occurs first. A credit card is required to make reservations. To receive this group rate, attendees must call from the U.S. 877-532-8468 ext. 2515 and from overseas call 808-324-2515 and ask for the Global Conference on Business and Finance group rate. Airfares & Airport
The Keauhou Beach Resort is located in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii. It is located on the Big Island of Hawaii. The closest airport is the Kona International Airport (KOA) which is about 15 miles from the resort. There are direct flights to Kona from the following U.S. cities: Chicago, Denver, Los Angeles Phoenix, San Francisco and Seattle. Direct service is also available from Tokyo, Japan and Vancouver, Canada. The Hilo International Airport, also located on the Big Island is approximately 120 miles away from the Keauhou Beach Resort.
For those arriving to one of the other islands, interisland air service is available from Hawaiian Airlines, Go! Airlines, Pacific Wings, Mokulele Airlines and Island Air.
Ground Transportation
There are a number of car rental agencies at the Kona International Airport. Taxi and Shuttle Services are also available. The approximate cost of a Taxi from the Kona Airport to the Hotel is $55. Shuttle service is available from Speedi Shuttle.

PRESENTATION EQUIPMENT
Each conference room will be equipped with a computer and LCD projector. A document camera (Elmo) capable of presenting most transparencies or paper documents will be available on advance request only on a first come first served basis. Kailua-Kona is an exciting destination with much to offer. The island has several award winning beaches. The Kilauea volcano is a day trip from the hotel. Kilauea is an active volcano offering spectacular sights. Commonly, you can hike to within a few meters of the hot lava. Whale watching tours are readily available as are fishing charters and scuba diving tours. The island has spectacular waterfalls and numerous golf courses. INFORMATION ABOUT THE HOTEL
The Keauhou Beach Resort is beautiful and located on an area of beach with exceptional snorkeling. The hotel overhangs the ocean with very nice marine life viewing in the evenings. The hotel swimming pool and beach are located a few steps from the conference center. A shopping center is located approximately Â? mile from the hotel featuring a grocery store, pharmacy, several restaurants, movie theaters and various other shops. Several golf courses are nearby. CONFERENCE CANCELLATIONS
The Institute reserves the right to cancel the conferences in the event of a natural disaster, terrorist event, illness or other unusual circumstances as determined at the sole discretion of the Institute for Business and Finance Research, LLC. In such instances, the Institute will be responsible at most for returning the attendeeâ?™s conference registration fee.
