2024 - Dossier 2024/1: African Histories, Afro-brazilian thoughts/or cultures and Ubuntu Ethics
Topics/Call fo Papers
The periodic Intellèctus, from Rio de Janeiro State University, has already opened her Call For Papers for the 2024/1's edition.
"Any project of education is based on the predominant conception of man. For man is the point of departure and arrival of educational action." (CASTIANO, 2001[1]). Thinking about culture and history on the pendulum between the philosophy of education, Afro-Brazilian culture and ubuntu ethics means reflecting on the ethical-moral dimension of societies. By proposing this theme, we aim to seek African, Brazilian and/or Latin American researchers in general, who think of a multidisciplinary theoretical framework, in order to reflect on the "African and Afro-Brazilian History and Culture". The relevance of our proposal is objectified by the need to guide and bring to light studies on ubuntu ethics and African philosophy. Although the framework on African History and Culture, as well as education with a focus on the Afro-Brazilian perspective encompasses a considerable number of references, we believe that it still does not present a satisfactory panorama in relation to the colonial project that for several centuries silenced through epistemicide, the knowledge linked to Afro-Pindoramic cultures in Brazil and in the world.
This proposal also intends to add articles that deal with the silencing of so-called "subaltern" knowledge, as a contribution on the path of building equity in the knowledge market, valuing human rights, the common good, equality, social peace and epistemic justice. The Dossier intends, in this way, to bring the voice of all those who think in practices / theories based on living Ubuntu.
We will accept articles until January 24th 2024.
