Topics/Call fo Papers

The First International ICST Conference on Eco-Technology and Green Computing (GreenTech) focuses on the role of green Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in accomplishing more sustainable and energy efficient solutions in computing and in promoting the diffusion of environmentally friendly computer systems.

The event aims to bring together researchers and practitioners who are interested in both ICT and the ecological impact of computing on the environment. Contributions from industry experts who are committed to work on the development of eco-efficient technologies and technology applications are warmly welcome.

TOPICS
Original five to eight page papers are solicited.
Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

- Code profiling and transformation for energy efficiency
- Energy-aware large scale distributed systems, such as Grids, Clouds and service computing
- Energy, performance, quality of service and other resource tradeoffs
- Energy-aware algorithms and application design
- Energy-aware language abstractions, programming systems
- Energy-efficient architectures
- Green computing in multi core/many core systems
- Intelligent Energy Management
- Low-radiation in wireless devices and e-waste
- System-level optimization, cross-layer coordination
- Energy-aware runtime and middleware
- Energy-efficient scheduling and resource allocation
- Energy-efficient grid, cloud, and data center technology
- Energy efficiency and virtualization
- Energy-aware high performance computing and applications

PUBLICATIONS
Accepted papers will be published in Springer's LNICST series and will appear in the SpringerLink, one of the largest digital libraries online that covers a variety of scientific disciplines, as well as in the ICST's own EU Digital Library (EUDL). LNICST volumes are submitted for inclusion to leading indexing services, including DBLP, Google Scholar, ACM Digital Library, ISI Proceedings, EI Engineering Index, CrossRef, Scopus. See http://www.springer.com/computer/lncs?SGWID=0-164-... for more information about indexing.

Authors are also encouraged to submit an extended version of their GreenTech paper to the special issue of The Computer Journal of the British Computer Society (Oxford).

GREENTECH INDUSTRY TRACK
The conference will include an Industry Track, where the latest developments and practical application of green ICT will be presented. White papers, extended abstracts, full-length papers are solicited for this track. Selected industry contributions will be published in a dedicated section of the conference proceedings.

DEMO/POSTER/TUTORIAL PROPOSALS
An exciting demo/poster section will demonstrate the latest trends on green technology/computing experimentation and implementation. Potential presenters are welcome to submit their proposal to info-AT-greentech.icst.org.
